Looking Back
mr conceicao. my primary school teacher. i saw him at the busstop when i came back from my lessons just now. as i walked back to my block, i recounted my form teachers in those school uniform years.
p1 - chen lao shi
p2 - miss kwek (christina, i think)
p3 - wei lao shi
p4 - chia hui tian (she can kill her students with her stack of rulers.)
p5 - gerard conceicao
p6 - ms ng
sec1 - phoebe leong
sec2 - ?? (cant remember her name; seldom see her cos she teaches us home econs only)
sec 3 - mrs boey
sec 4 - ms chong
i had so much joy, so much fun. i had seasons in the sun.. during my secondary school years. the pros of being a councillor - go to class late and leave the class early. the excitement of passing by the classes of my crushes and my friends'. building and breaking friendship.
poly years were moulding years where i learnt alot about negotiables and non-negotiables, learning to serve by the strength of youth (car-washing, setting up, choir, ava, ypg stalls), embarrassing moments, discovering who i am.
if you didnt realize, ive been out of poly for 2 years already. ever since i graduated, i spent 2 months thinking of my career options, 6 months working in a child care, 1 year 4 months serving the Lord in kindergarten. it continues to be a time of discovering my strengths and weaknesses, what i really want to do with my life, finding the Lord's joy and strength to cope with these. i remembered asking the Lord for areas that i can serve Him in greater capacity. see how the Lord answers prayers... teacher pat shared in family camp vespers - walk in and with the Lord soooo in tandem that you know what the Lord wants in His will for you. and the things you asked of Him, is in His will.. and He'll give. perhaps this is what it's all about.
