Find Us Faithful

It amazes me and makes me sit upright in my seat when I think about how God gives each of us in our lifetimes a role and a part to play in His plan. For us who are living, we have a little bit more time and here we are, making an effort to understand and fulfill whatever God has right from the beginning, purposed and tasked us to. For those who have gone before us, their work on earth is done.

This is what I've exactly considered over these two days as I attended funerary services of HY. Though her life was short and her faith is considered young, she had bore testimony for God to her family, to her friends.

As I take a few steps back in my thoughts, I remembered and considered SQ's life & death. After coming to faith, he lived a life that testified and reflected God.

I am challenged to live, to testify.

We're pilgrims on the journey of the narrow road

And those who've gone before us line the way

Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary

Their lives a stirring testament to God's sustaining grace

Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses

Let us run the race not only for the prize

But as those who've gone before us

Let us leave to those behind us

The heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives

Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

May the fire of our devotion light their way

May the footprints that we leave

Lead them to believe

And the lives we live inspire them to obey

Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful

After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone

And our children sift though all we've left behind

May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover

Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find
